Historic Notes and Quotes

The Livingston Enterprise, March 28, 1885

Among the Hayne’s series of extra large landscape photographs is one of Cooke City with Republic mountain towing amid the clouds above the typical mining camp that nestles at the base. It is one of the most characteristic and beautiful portraitures of mining camp scenery ever placed on paper. John T. Lilly has a copy of the picture elegantly framed and prizes it very highly.
